Patricia A. Ryan

Patricia A. Ryan, 88, of Stamford passed away peacefully at her home on September 3, 2026. Patricia was born in Bronx, NY on November 20, 1937 to the late Archibald and Frances A. Wiley Mayer.

At the beginning of Pat’s professional career, she worked at New York Telephone and then married the love of her life, her husband, Francis J. Ryan. They had three beautiful children, The family then relocated to Stamford, CT and she returned to the workforce as a Secret Shopper for Woolworth’s. After that, she returned to the phone company, SNET as a business office rep and after 18 years she retired in 1996. Pat then pursued a second career in real estate, her longest tenure was at Century 21 where she finally retired in 2017.

Aside from her professional career, Pat loved to volunteer her time for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon for over 30 years, as a Columbiette for Knights of Columbus, the Stamford women’s club and a volunteer at the Hibernian Hall. Pat was an avid traveler and has jetsetted to England, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Nova Scotia with her friends. Pat was also a voracious reader and bowler. Pat was extremely devoted to her Catholic faith; she was a long time member at St. Maurices where she was a Eucharistic Minister. More recently she continued on with her faith at St. Bridget’s of Ireland.

Her family would like to thank her devoted caregivers, Patricia and Portia as well as her hospice nurse, Patrick from VITAS for all the love and respect they showed our mom during her final chapter.

Patricia is survived by her three loving children; Theresa Ryan D’Amaro and her husband Michael, Anthony F. Ryan and Jackie Dudek and her husband Michael. Her five grandchildren; Emma, Anthony, Michael, James and Hannah and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Theodore also survive.

Besides her parents, Patricia is predeceased by her loving husband Francis J. Ryan, her brother Lefty Mayer and her sister Frances Collins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Patricia’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, .
