Paul Hallowell
August 2, 1929 — February 20, 2015
Paul Hallowell passed away on Friday February 20, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital. Paul was born in Amesville, Ohio on August 2, 1929 to the late Mabel and Richard D. Hallowell. He graduated from Newark, Ohio High School and Institute of Traffic Management in New York City. Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy being assigned to submarine service in New London, Connecticut and the U.S.S. Gilmore in Key West, Florida. Paul’s career in the magazine industry began working for Conde Nast Publications and he retired from The New Yorker Magazine.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Ann (Caterbone) Hallowell. He is also survived by his sisters Martha Rains of Johnston, Ohio, Mary Allen of Athens, Ohio and Barbara Miller of California.
Besides his parents, Paul is predeceased by his brother Max A. Hallowell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT.
