Paul P. Pavia, Jr., 76 of Stamford, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Camillus Rehab and Health Center. Born on June 18, 1933 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Paul P., Sr. and Rose Sabia Pavia.
Paul was an electrician for 59 years for IBEW, Local 3, formally Local 501, before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Augustine Council #41, and a member of the IBEW Local 3 Retirees Club. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.
Paul is survived by his wife, Caroline M. DeSimone Pavia of Stamford; two sons, Anthony P. Pavia and his wife Wendy of Simpsonville, SC and Paul P. Pavia III and his wife Kelly of Stamford; one sister, Vita Pavia Smith of Stamford; seven grandchildren, Thomas J. Perretta, Jr., Jennifer M. Schriefer, Kayla L. Pavia, Jake P. Pavia, Ashley P. Pavia, Nicole Q Pavia and Sophie R. Pavia; two sons-in-law, Robert Schriefer and Thomas Perretta; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette and Chickie Pavia and Marie Morgera and her husband John. Many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his two daughters, Roseann Schriefer and Susan Perretta; two brothers, Nicholas and Jack Pavia; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Schriefer.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Paul’s name to the Marians of Immaculate Conception Association, Marian Helpers, Eden Hill, Stockbridge, MA 01263.
