Pauline Doris Valentine, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was born in Yonkers, NY on October 17, 1918 to the late Frank and Mary Zicaro Rocco.
Pauline was an employee of the History Book Club of Stamford during the 1970’s and 1980’s. She was an active member of the Columbiettes, St. Augustine Council #41 of the Knights of Columbus. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Theresa, she enjoyed bowling at Bowl-A-Rama on the Wednesday Night Ladies League and was an avid Mets fan.
She is survived by her children, Rita Valentine, Jean Valentine and Richard Valentine and his wife Anne all of Stamford, as well as four grandchildren, Jeanne Fabiano and her husband Joe, John, Amber and Ashley Valentine, seven great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brianna, Chiara, Tessa, Joshua, Jordan and Adison. Also surviving is a sister, Rita Molgano and her husband Louis, and a brother Richard Gabriele.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Louis A. Valentine, a daughter, Lois Valentine, a sister, Helen Montecalvo and a brother, Louis Gabriele.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue Stamford on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20AM Friday, January 26, 2018 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by the funeral home to defray expenses.
