M. Pauline Whitehead, 86, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Darien on April 1, 1929 to the late Frederick and Stephanie Schriber.
Pauline was a Radiology Technician at Stamford Hospital for many years before her retirement. She was an avid UConn women’s basketball fan as well as a season ticket holder to the New York Giants and also loved to watch the New York Mets.
She is survived by her loving children, Susan John and her husband Richard of New Canaan, Nancy Dunleavy and her husband Martin of Trumbull, Robert Whitehead, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Stamford and Edward Whitehead of Stamford, as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her husband Robert M. Whitehead, Sr. in July 1998 and a sister Frieda Murphy.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pauline’s memory to The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT 06902
