Penny T. Carbajal, 51, of Prospect, CT and formerly of Stamford passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. She was born in Stamford on March 25, 1963 to the late Senator Anthony D. Truglia and State Representative Christel Heidemann Truglia.
Penny and Adam were married in October of 1996. They were devoted to their daughters Chelsi and Miranda. Penny loved to cook and bake and her delicious food brought joy to many friends and family. Penny was never far from a fresh, hot cup of coffee, regular-not decaf! She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend who will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Penny is survived by her devoted husband Adam J. Carbajal of Prospect, her loving daughters Miranda and Chelsi Carbajal of Prospect, her loving mother Christel Heidemann Truglia of Stamford, a loving sister Sally Truglia of Stamford and a loving brother Anthony D. Truglia, Jr. Many adoring nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her father, Penny was predeceased by her nephew RJ Serafino, III.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Clement RC Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Penny’s memory to The Truglia Thumbelina Fund, c/o Fairfield County Community Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851 or to a charity of ones choice.
