Peter J. Genestra

Peter J. Genestra, 59, died suddenly on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at his home in Stamford. Born November 26, 1948 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Michael and Yolanda Toth Genestra.
Peter was a resident of Stamford for thirty years and was a retired Sheet Metal Mechanic for Baldwin Technologies. He was a member of the Waterford Speedbowl and an avid fisherman and gardener.
He is survived by his daughter, Kyle C. Genestra of Stamford; a brother, Frederick Genestra of Norwalk; several nieces and nephews; and several close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Griffin Genestra; and a brother, Michael Genestra.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 6:00 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.
