The family of Peter M. Tournas is sad to announce his passing on Friday, December 3, 2021, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Peter was born on December 7, 1966, in Stamford, to Efstathios Tournas and Jeanette Stathopoulos Tournas of Stamford. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Peter lit up the room whenever he entered with his smile and heartfelt greeting. He lived life with a passion with a love of family, finance, health and many other things. Striving to acquire knowledge, he was always bettering himself, always searching for a new challenge to conquer. His quests brought him to Brazil, Chile, then back to Stamford. Seeking a new adventure, he recently graduated with his PhD in osteopathic medicine and acupuncture and was set to start a new chapter in his life. He moved to Florida, having just bought a house, and was excited to begin his practice.
Peter always loved a debate and had opinions on many things. He loved the outdoors, his daily walks, and especially playtime with his loving niece, Yianna, who absolutely adored him.
In addition to his loving parents Peter is survived by his beloved brother Constantine Tournas and his wife Despina Tournas, his beloved niece Yianna Tournas, his beloved sister Irene Tournas, and many aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and countless friends.
Peter's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 9th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 at the church. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rockrimmon Rd., Stamford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the Tournas family is requesting donations be made in Peter's memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT. 06905
