Peter Wituck, 85, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at Richard Rosenthal Hospice Residence. Born January 10, 1924 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Artemis “Harry” and Stefanida “Stella” Kassian Wituk.
Peter was a boilermaker for Polycast for five years. He was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Stamford. As a young man, he volunteered to help in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor. His brother Charlie, was already there as an Army Medic.
He is survived by his two sisters, Mary Maciejewski of Greenwich; and Shirley Viteretto of Riverside. He has twenty-two nieces and nephews: Peter Viteretto; Tara Burns; Kathy Cracus; Diane Rabita; Denise Moody who predeceased him; Charles Wituck; Peter DeCrescenzo; Jill DeCrescenzo; Joy DeCrescenzo; Jon DeCrescenzo; Joseph DeCrescenzo; George DeCrescenzo; Stephen Maciejewski; Patricia Pannone; Gaye Pacini; Louie Pacini; Charles Ray; Theresa Freccia; Max Kosheluk; Frank Kosheluk; Xollia Dubas and Luba Dubas of Ukraine.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six sisters: Eudokia “Dolly” Pacini; Sophie DeCrescenzo; Helen Kosheluk; Barbara Dubas; Elizabeth Bartholomew; and Margaret Geriak; and three brothers: Charles Wituck, George Wituck and Ivan “John” Wituk.
There will be no calling hours. Services and Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to observe Uncle Petey’s conservative nature and suggests, if you wish to make a donation, it should be to St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 141 Den Road, Stamford, CT 06903, the only organization to which he sent money.
