Philip J. Puzzuoli, a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT., passed away at age 78 from natural causes on May 27, 2009. Phil was born on April 29, 1931 to the late Ralph and Mary Puzzuoli.
He was the loving father of three children from his 28 year marriage to Angela: Dante, Diana and David. He was a dearly loved grandfather of seven: Jon, Dante Jr., Italia, Anthony, Luke, Alexandra and Nicole.
Phil was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan and enjoyed all sports. Phil was blessed with family love and togetherness until his final days.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his best friends, Alfonse Miranda, Rocky Coppola and his cousin, Babe Pagliaro.
Phil was a Korean War veteran who attended Stamford High School and the University of Connecticut. He loved sports and excelled at football and track at Stamford High. Phil also played football for UConn during his freshman year and was a heavyweight boxer during his time in the military. Throughout his work life, Phil worked for multiple companies in the Stamford area as a construction project manager.
Services for the dearly departed will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT, on Monday, June 1st from 10:00 am to 1:00 p.m. A time of reflection will follow the calling hours and then a procession to St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, will complete the memorial services.
