Philip Dube, Sr.

Philip Joseph Dube, Sr., 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at his home in Stamford surrounded by his family. Born July 22, 1935 in Eagle Lake, ME, he was the son of the late Larry and Cecile Roy Dube.
Philip was in construction with Frank Mercede & Son for twenty nine years and then Pete Cavanna Roofing for fifteen years until his retirement. He was a Stamford resident since 1952.
He is survived by four daughters: Shari Dube of Stamford; Lisa Iannaccone and her husband Pete of Norwalk; Denise Wilson and her husband Loren of Stamford; and Jennifer Wilgus and her husband Drew of Stamford; five sons: Robert and his wife Gail of Florida; Kevin and his wife Melissa; and Scott, David and Sean Dube all of Stamford; three brothers: Danny, Larry and Wayne Dube of Stamford; and four sisters: Joan, Linda, Birdie and Carol. Fifteen grandchildren: Heather, George, Melissa, Philip, III, Christa, Kim, Peter, Jr., Tina, Brittany, RJ, Tyler, Kevin, Jr., Anthony, Megan and Laura; and twelve great grandchildren: Destiny, Brandon, Tyler, Alyssa, Nelson, Devin, Angelina, Peter, III, Lucas, Blain, Dante and Kayla also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Joan Melsopp Dube; a son, Philip J. Dube, Jr.; six brothers: Willard, Lionel, James, Robert, Gerry and Alfred; and a sister, Betty.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, April 1 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 2 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Artie Kassimis officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
