Philomena A. Braccia, 81, formerly of Norwalk passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Abruzzo, Italy on August 1, 1935 to the late Joseph P. and Lucia “Lucy” Braccia, raised and attended schools in Stamford and lived in Norwalk during her later years.
She worked for the City of Stamford at Stamford High School until her retirement in June 2000.
Philomena is survived by her loving brother Joseph Braccia and his wife Una DeMasi Braccia of Springfield, Virginia and nine nieces and nephews: Donald, Stephen and Karen-Ann Ruttkamp; Jason Vlicky; Denise Braccia Kyle; Joseph Darren, Amy, Rebecca and David Braccia.
Besides her parents, Philomena was predeceased by her sister, Angie Vlicky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Phillips RC Church, 25 France Street, Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Richards Avenue, Norwalk. There will be no calling hours.
