Phyllis Lacrette

Phyllis C. LaCrette, 79, of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Phyllis, Aunty Pearl, or Aunty P, as she was affectionately known, was born in Trinidad, West Indies, on July 3, 1936 to the late James and Iola Worrell LaCrette.
Phyllis immigrated to United States in 1968 and began a career in field of banking. She also started her family here in Stamford. Her family comprises her loving daughters, Hannah Bailey of Greenwich, Lesley Ann Bailey and her husband Kenneth of Washington, D.C., Roxanne S. Bailey of Norwalk and their father, Oscar Bailey. Her four grandchildren are Lucas, Logan, Ellis and Olivia.
Her brother Kenneth LaCrette and his wife Merle of Trinidad, West Indies, also survived her as well as loving nieces and nephews, who viewed her as much a mother as she viewed them her own children. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her two sisters Joyce and Myra Manning.
Phyllis was the matriarch of the family and her love of the Lord was an inspiration to all. Her favorite pastime was to read or listen to the word of God and to share the good news with others. With this, her family is comforted, knowing that Phyllis exuded the peace of mind of knowing that she would be with the Lord in Heaven. May her sweet and gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 PM. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 12:30 -1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, Stamford.
