Rafael Pierrez

Rafael Pierrez, 86, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. Born March 23, 1922 in Cuba, he was the son of the late Rafael and Santa Herrera Pierrez.
Rafael was an employee for St. Joseph Medical Center for twenty years until his retirement in 1992.
He is survived by a sister, Asuncion E. Gonzalez of Stamford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Maria Fernandez Pierrez.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, February 2 from 11:00 12:00 noon. A funeral service will then be held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Arthur Mollenhauer officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
