Ralph Sparan, Jr.

Ralph Sparan, Jr., 96, of Old Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stamford on November 30, 1926, to the late Ralph and Agnes Hogan Sparan.
Ralph was a former Stamford and longtime Greenwich resident. He proudly served during WWII in the US Army. Ralph was an avid sportsman, former employee of United House Wrecking, and a loving father and grandfather.
Ralph is survived by his loving children, Peter Sparan and his wife Molly of Norwalk, Ralph R. Sparan and his wife Michele of Stamford, as well as his brother, Thomas Sparan of Stamford. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren, Catherine Cuthbertson and her husband Dave, Marianne and Adrianna Sparan and a great granddaughter, Samantha Cuthbertson.
Besides his parents, Ralph was also predeceased by his beloved wife Gloria Prizio Sparan, and his brothers Robert and Edward Sparan.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 9:20AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church , 4 Riverside Avenue, Riverside at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s RC Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 2:00-5:00 PM.
