Raul Font

Raul Font, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2009 at his home in Stamford. Born April 11, 1929 in Cuba, he was the son of the late Juan Ramon and Clara Font.
Raul was an employee of Pitney Bowes for twenty five years until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, he became a crossing guard for the last fourteen years.
He is survived by his wife, Balbina Tellaz Font of Stamford; a son, Raul Peter Font and his wife, Nancy of Stamford; two granddaughters, Haley Ann Font and Sophia Rae Font. Two sisters, Dora Alfonso of Cuba; and Martha Hidalgo of Florida; and five nephews, Mario C. Hidalgo, Jr. of Stamford; Sergio, Sixto, Alejandro and Carlos Del Valles of Cuba also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his aunt, Eudosia Font.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, January 14 from 3:00 7:00 PM with a prayer service being held at 6:45 PM with the Rev. Gustavo A. Falla officiating. Interment will be private.
