Raymond Joseph Gagliardi
August 24, 1928 — May 17, 2008
Raymond Joseph Gagliardi, 79, a life long resident of Stamford, passed away on May 17. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Florence J. Gagliardi.
He is survived by his sister, Dolores Pavia and her husband Mike; and a niece, Cindy Lee Ruggiri.
Raymond worked in the Radiology Department at the Stamford Hospital for over 40 years until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed his work at the Hospital and was forever grateful for the many, many wonderful friends throughout his employment that were truly considered his extended family.
Ray also leaves behind many kind and caring neighbors and lifetime friends that he cherished.
He was also a baseball fan and known to all as a great joke teller. You could always count on Ray to make you laugh with new jokes every week.
Ray was most proud of receiving his Stamford High Diploma in 2008 and was appreciative to all those who helped make this happy moment possible for him.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, May 22 at 10:20 AM and proceed to the Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns RC Cemetery, Darien.
