Regina Promis

Regina Ann Promis, 94, a resident of Stamford and a former resident of Pinellas Park and Clearwater, FL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. She was born on November 23, 1919 in Greenwich, CT to the late Michael and Josephine Gutwerk Doeberl.
Regina was employed as an Office Manager with the City of Stamford, Urban Redevelopment Commission for twenty years before retiring in 1981 and was a member of the Red Hats in Clearwater, FL.
She is survived by her loving children, Rev. Christopher P. Promis of Chicago, IL, Michael J. Promis and his wife Janice of Stamford , two grandchildren Michael M. Promis and his wife Jennifer and Matthew P. Promis and his wife Alexandra.
Besides her parents, Regina was predeceased by her husband Leopold E. Promis in 2005 and a sister Edith Thomson and a brother Frank Doeberl.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Regina’s memory to St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
