Richard A. Giordano,74, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was born on April 6, 1942 in Hartford, CT.
Richard was a co-founder of the original Barons and was known for his singing and Ballroom Dancing.
Richie is survived by his daughter Gina Marie Giordano of Derby, CT, his son Richard A. Giordano, II of the Bronx, NY, a sister Mary Lyon of Monroe, CT, two brothers Philip Giordano of Newtown, CT, Gerald Blanchard of Red Lion, PA and a very special sister and brother, Carol and Jimmy Ienner, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many AA friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michele Giordano (the chevel man) and Grazia LoRusso Giordano and by his sister Antoinette Robinson and his brothers Frank G, Vincent and Michael Giordano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. There will be no calling hours and Interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the Giordano family with the arrangements.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the care that Richard received to Dr. Steve Lo, Deborah D’Andrea, nurse Doreen Patel and all the wonderful people from Hospice and Constellation Health Services and also a special thank you to Rev. Martin DeMayo.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Richard’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
