Richard Lyle Kancyr, Jr., 40, of Stamford passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born in Stamford on June 24, 1977 to Richard Lyle Kancyr, Sr. and Barbara Lockwood Gallagi.
Richard was employed with the New York State Dept. of Corrections as a Correctional Officer.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa D. Inzitari Kancyr and his two children,Trey and Hailee all of Stamford. His mother, Barbara Lockwood Gallagi of Waterbury, CT, his father, Richard Lyle Kancyr, Sr. of FL, his brother, Shawn Kancyr of CT, and his brother Justin M. Kancyr, maternal grandmother, Frederica Lockwood of TN, maternal grandfather, William Lockwood of NC and his paternal grandfather, Harry Kancyr of TX. Also surviving are his brothers in law, Matthew and Michael (Rachael) Inzitari of Stamford and father in law and mother in law, Michael and Diane Inzitari of Stamford and three nephews, Jordan Kancyr, Ryan and Kyle Inzitari and a niece, Riley Kancyr, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Shirley Robinson.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM, with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held privately.
