Robert H. Anderson, 88, of Stamford passed away at home peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 1, 1922 in Callaway, Nebraska to the late Andrew and Idah Carlos Anderson.
Robert was employed at Olin Corporation and Champion International as a transportation manager until his retirement. He loved spending his summers in Ocean City, MD with his loving wife and family and was an avid golfer. He served in WW II in the US Coast Guard and was a member of the American Legion Member Post #200. He was a trombone player and was a big lover of Big Band music and played with Hal McIntyer Band. Robert received a scholarship to Drake University Conservatory in Des Moine, Iowa and later graduated at the University of Maryland, where he received a BS degree in 1951.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Maria Pluhar Anderson of Stamford, his loving stepchildren, Adrienne Muniz of Norwalk, Miklos Csapilla of Stamford and Yvette Belmont and her husband Dan of Texas. Survivors also include eleven loving grandchildren, Steven, Jessica, Jaime, Kristin, Jennifer, Samantha, Alex, Scott, Oscar, Shannon and Mickey.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Mark Anderson and brother, Jack Anderson.
