Robert C. Potter, 81 of Norwalk, CT, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Bob, born in Stamford on January 4, 1938, one of five children of George O. Potter and Veronica Potter, was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Gagola of OH, and a brother, George O. Potter of Norwalk, CT.

He graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School in 1956, before serving in the U.S. Army. In the army, he was stationed in Germany for 17 months. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lillian C. Potter, nee Capoli. Both from Stamford originally, they moved to Norwalk to raise their family.

Robert was a grocery store manager in the Stamford, Norwalk and Rye NY area before his retirement. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, skier, kayaker and bocce player.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian, his sisters, Barbara Broadhurst of TN and Holly McCann of FL, his son, Robert C. Potter II and wife, Annette Potter of Norwalk, CT, his daughter, Lisa Roy and husband Charles Roy of Milford, CT, his grandchildren, Robert Potter of CA, Michael Potter of Norwalk, Emily Roy and Kimberly Roy of Milford, and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jeremy, and Xara of CA, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT, followed by a luncheon at Pellicci’s Restaurant at 96 Stillwater Avenue, Stamford, CT.
