Robert G. Schriefer

Robert G. Schriefer, 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born February 4, 1931 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Charles C. Schriefer and Alice Fitzgerald Hogan.
Robert was an employee of Genovese Industries Incorporated, retiring in 1995 after forty one years of service and was a member of the Teamsters local union #191. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean Conflict.
Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia Dowling Schriefer; two sons, Robert G. Schriefer of Beacon Falls, CT; and Richard J. Schriefer and his wife Leslie of Trumbull; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Natalie and Michael Schriefer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Roseann P. Schriefer; and a granddaughter, Stephanie L. Schriefer.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, December 19 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Saturday, December 20 and proceed to Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center, 34 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06904.
