Dr. Rocco Cassone

Doctor Rocco Cassone, M.D., 88, died on March 9, 2006 at the Richard Rosenthal Hospice. Born May 26, 1917 in Stamford, CT, he was the firstborn son of Domenico and Julia Centonze Cassone. He attended Stamford High School and went to the University of Vermont, where he received his medical degree in 1941.
Dr. Cassone was on the staff of Stamford Hospital and St. Josephs Hospital during his 50 years of medical practice. He had an office at 10 Washington Blvd, where he was a family practice physician and practiced obstetrics for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Louise Cassone of New York; a son, Dr. Rocco D. Cassone of South Carolina; three grandchildren and fourteen nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two brothers, Vincent Cassone of Tipton, Michigan, and Victor Cassone of New Milford, CT.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Louise McKinney Cassone; three brothers, Dominick, John and Mike Cassone; and a sister Nancy Cassone.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 6:00 PM on Wednesday March 15 at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT.
