Rocco Feo
November 1, 1935 — June 3, 2015
Rocco “Rocky” Feo, 79, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. He was born on November 1, 1935 in Cirella, Italy to the late Antonio and Maria Varcalli Feo.
Rocky was a graduate of J.M. Wright Technical School and a proud Veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed a rewarding career in auto mechanics and was a valued employee and co worker. In addition to helping others and spending time with his family, Rocky enjoyed playing golf, watching horse racing and baseball, as well as taking trips to the casinos with his brothers. His favorite pastime was walking, at least for five or more miles a day. To Rocky, a day without a walk was incomplete. Rocky provided a peaceful and calming presence for his family, and will be forever missed.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph “Joe” Feo of Stamford, his two sisters, Mary Lawlor of Norwalk, Vera Hagymasi and her husband Andy of Stamford, as well as his niece Carrie Kugler and nephews, Steve Hagymasi and Matthew Kugler.
Besides his parents, Rocky was predeceased by his three brothers, Bruno, Nicola “Nicky” and James “Jim” Feo.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St.John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning, June 8, 2015 from 8:30-9:30 AM prior to Mass.
The family requests that donations be made in Rocky’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105
