Roger Cary

Roger Cary, 54, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on July 4, 2013 at his home. Born on March 27, 1959 in Mexico D.F., he is the son of Irene Marchenko Cary of Greenwich, CT and the late Michael Cary. Roger was a lifelong resident of Stamford, attended public schools and graduated from Stamford High in 1977. He also attended the University of Texas in Austin. For more than 30 years, Roger worked in various roles within the retail grocery industry, including management for Grade A Shoprite and Grand Union. Grade A Shoprite became his second family and he was loved and respected for his contributions and dedication to the business.
Besides his mother, Roger is survived by his sister, Sheila Cary Eletto of Woodbury CT, his brother, Brian Cary of Phoenix AZ, his niece, Christine Tyrrell of Sandy Hook, CT, his nephew, David Boyajian of Trumbull, CT and his niece, Amy Boyajian of Woodbury, CT, and three grand nephews, Dylan Tyrrell, Trevor Tyrrell, Cole Boyajian and one grandniece, Sadie Boyajian.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with a brief Christian service at 7:30 pm. A private burial is July 11 at Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich CT.
