Roger Francis Olsen, Jr.

Roger Francis Olsen Jr., 67, of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 9, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born on February 12, 1959 to Roger F. Olsen Sr. and Gladys N. Olsen (née Smith), he grew up in Rye, NY alongside his two sisters, Christy and Cindy Olsen. From an early age, he developed a deep love for spending time on Cape Cod, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He built a fulfilling career as an insurance broker, but his greatest pride and joy was his family. He and his wife, Astrid Hoffmann-Olsen, spent 31 wonderful years together. Roger is survived by his mother, Gladys; his wife, Astrid; his children, Katherine (28), Charles (25) and his wife Chelsea Valdez; and Andrew (23); and a wide, cherished circle of extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Roger Olsen Sr. Please join us in celebrating Roger’s life on June 12, 2026, from 12:30pm to 3pm at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. A prayer service will take place during the visitation and begin at 2:30PM.  The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to The Residence at Summer Street and Roger's caregivers for their compassionate care.
