Roger William Arnow, Sr., age 78, of Stamford passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016. He was born in Stamford on August 25, 1937 to the late William W. and Agnes Fitzgerald Arnow.
He was the founder of Roger Arnow Excavating in 1957, and took pride in the fact that he helped build up Stamford from a small country town to the city it is today. Roger was truly larger than life and left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His unforgettable personality and humor will be missed by many.
Roger is survived by his loving sons, Roger W. “Willie” Arnow, Jr. and his wife Marylee, Kenneth I. Arnow and his wife Lynn all of Stamford, his brother Alan Arnow and his wife Joan of Fairfield, as well as five grandchildren, Pamela, Michael, William, Amy (Andrew), and Morgan. He also leaves behind his longtime companion, Joanne Lockwood.
Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by Janet Arnow, his niece Allison, and his granddaughter Jessica.
