Ronald Delmazzio

Ronald P. DelMazzio,71, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Stamford on August 2, 1943 to Mary Long and the late Mario DelMazzio.
Ronald was employed as a Mechanic at Clairol for many years before his retirement. Ronald was an avid golfer and a true sportsman, as a young man he pitched for the Babe Ruth League, and the Stamford Little League where his team won the State Championship. He also played baseball in the Clairol League.
Besides his mother Mary Long, Ronald is survived by his loving wife Elsa A. Serpa DelMazzio, his children Raymond DelMazzio, Dana Hawkins and her husband Curtis, Ivonne Cruz and her husband Jim, Marianne DelMazzio, Richard DelMazzio and his wife Susan; a brother Donald DelMazzio and his wife Colleen, a sister Dolores Ferris and her husband Ralph and a brother Curtis Long; also surviving are five grandchildren, Amanda, Amber, Sabatino, Jason, Matthew and his aunts Joyce Chirillo, Beatrice Zannino and Emma Del Mazio. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Besides his father Mario DelMazzio, Ronald is also predeceased by his step father Blair Long and his grandson Kyle.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral & Crematory at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christain Burial to be celebrated on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Inurnment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
