Rose Berlingo
October 16, 1918 — March 28, 2009
Rose M. (Nardozza) Berlingo passed away March 28, 2009 in Sun City Center, Florida. Born in New York City on October 16, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Chiara Salvatore Nardozza.
She was married to Arthur Berlingo July 24, 1943. Rose worked in Flossie Dress Shop, State National Bank, and Bloomingdales Department store for 18 years. She lived in Stamford and Fairfield, CT before retiring to Florida in 1983.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Anita Berlingo of Florida; and Deborah (Jeff) Bingham of Naugatuck. She is also survived by grandchildren: Eric Bruce, Maureen Bingham, Timothy Berlingo, Chiara Fox; great grandchildren: Nicholas, Grace and Anthony Berlingo; a sister, Angelina Ciardi; a brother, Thomas Nardozza; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H.; a son, Arthur T.; and sisters, Anna Coviello and Carmela Lionetti.
Although we mourn her loss we celebrate her life and cherish the love and precious memories that remain with us forever. Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, April 5 from 2:00 �" 6:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 8:40 AM on Monday, April 6 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery Mausoleum in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to the Alzheimer Association, 10 Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06850 or the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence, 100 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06904.
