Russell F. Minniti, 72, a former resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 25, 2016. He was born in Stamford on October 5, 1944 to the late Santo and Emily Girardi Minniti.
Russell worked in The Electrical Supply Industry throughout his life and was employed at Electrical Wholesalers of Stamford for ten years. He was an avid golfer, he loved to cook, travel and spend time with his family. He was a big Yankees and Jet fan, but there was no one he was a bigger fan of, then his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Lisa Descours and her husband Pierre of France. Sherry D’Elia and her husband Joe of Fairfield, two sisters Marie Connor and her husband Paul of Monroe, Dolores Pintek of Greenwich, five grandchildren Matthieu, Thomas, Sarah, Joe’ and David, as well as his former wife Elaine Kish of Newtown.
Besides his parents, Russell was predeceased by his daughter Dana Lynn Minniti.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
