Sabino La Rocca
November 1, 1929 — May 25, 2006
Sabino La Rocca, 76, passed away on Thursday May 25, 2006 at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 1, 1929 in Atripalda, Italy he was the son of the late Antonio and Graziella Gentile La Rocca.
He was a retired employee of Pitney Bowes. He was a resident of St. Augustine, Florida for the past twelve years.
He is survived by his daughter, Grace and her husband Bill DeMartino of Stamford; a son, Antonio La Rocca and his companion Ann Marie Papa of Stamford; three grandchildren, Billy, Samantha, and Remy; three brothers, Alfredo La Rocca of Germany; Antonio La Rocca of Italy; and Tommaso La Rocca of Greenwich; and two sisters, Olga and Ieda La Rocca both of Italy. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Vincenzo and his wife Dora Catino; a brother-in-law Antonio and his wife Angelina Catino; and his sister-in-law Carmella and her husband Tony Catino; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Assunta Catino La Rocca; and a brother, Romalo La Rocca.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 8:50 AM on Saturday May 27, 2006 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. There will be calling hours at the funeral home on Friday May 26, 2006 from 4:00 8:00 PM.
