Salvatore J. Del Vecchio

Salvatore J. Del Vecchio, 93, of Margate, Florida, died on July 13, 2007. He was born in Stamford on May 16, 1914 the son of the late Ralph and Madeline Compo Del Vecchio.
A longtime resident of Stamford, he retired from Machlett Labs before moving to Florida.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Del Vecchio of Margate, FL; his son, Richard Del Vecchio of Madison, CT; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Fallon of Newton, Mass; Richard Del Vecchio of Framingham, Mass; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Snooky) Del Vecchio of Stamford; and Louis Del Vecchio of Norwalk; and a sister, Louise Serapina of Stamford. Six step-children, Paul Fountain; Lynn Steinberg; Barbara Dahl; Carol Marker; Jo-Ann Sprich; and Stephanie Silber; and twelve step-grandchildren, also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Burriesci Del Vecchio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Stamford. There will be no calling hours.
