Samuel H. Gladstone, 90, died on Sunday February 5, 2006 at Stamford Hospital. Born in Stamford on January 7, 1916, he was the son of the late Isaac and Celia Silverman Gladstone.

He was a retired Foreman at Eder Brothers Inc. of Greenwich and West Haven for 44 years. Mr. Gladstone was a US Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the Fifth Army, 88th Infantry Division (Blue Devils) 313th Engineering Battalion and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Darien, the Piedmont Club of Darien, and the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Antoinette A. Gaetano Gladstone of Stamford; a daughter, Barbara and her husband Dr. John De Carlo of Stamford; a son, Gregory Gladstone and his wife Patti of Kenny Bunk, Maine; three grandchildren, Tracy De Carlo, John De Carlo Jr., and Katharine Gladstone; a sister, Katherine Askew of Stamford; a brother, Herman Gladstone of Stamford; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers and eight sisters.

Private funeral services were held Wednesday February 8, 2006.
