Sarah J. Aslam, longtime Stamford resident and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 with her loving family at her side. Sarah was born in Karachi, Pakistan on September 3, 1942 to the late Aurelion and Santana Andrades.
Sarah is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Abdul Aslam; daughter, Zenia Pitcher and husband Eric and daughter-in-law, Patricia Aslam.; four grandchildren, Jake, Sarah, Kyle, and Lauren, along with three step grandchildren, Ryan, Erin and Amanda.In addition to her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her beloved son, Feroze Aslam, in 2012.
Sarah was loved and adored not only by her husband, children and grandchildren, but also by everyone that knew her. They especially loved her amazing cooking, and they could never leave her home without a hot meal. She was the Matriarch of her family at a very young age after the passing of her mother. She lived a very full life, she traveled all over the world with her husband and children. Her life goal was to make a happy home for her family, Sarah loved them fiercely. She was a proud member of the Stamford Senior Center, where she made many friends.
Sarah will be greatly missed by her family and by those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 10:00AM at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist Church, 279 Atlantic Street, in Stamford. Interment will immediately follow Mass at St. Mary RC Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
