Sharon A. Nichols

Sharon A. Nichols, 63, of Norwalk entered into rest Sunday, October 21, 2007 at her home. Daughter of the late Edward and Marion Price Correa, Sharon was born in Stamford on September 27, 1944 and lived most of her life there.
Sharon attended Stamford Catholic High School, and received her hairdressing license from Leon's Institute of Hair Design in Stamford. She was a hairdresser for many years prior to becoming a Public Safety Dispatcher for the Stamford Fire Department. After retiring in 1987, she lived in Lakeland, FL for 1 year. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and her Yorkie, Princess. She enjoyed the beach, cooking, home decorating, doo-wop music, and was a fan of NASCAR.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 19 years, Robert Nichols; a son, Frank Blefari and his wife Lenora; two sisters, Jody Owens of Lakeland, FL; and Tammy Kumanchik and her husband Dalin of Winter Park, FL; a granddaughter, Donna Blefari. Her niece, Tracey Kenez; and nephew, Jason Bankowski of Norwalk; a nephew, Christopher Owens of Lakeland; as well as many other beloved cousins and relatives that also survive her.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her son, Robert; and a sister, Sandra Bankowski.
Calling hours will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 4 - 8 PM with a prayer service being held at 7:30 PM. A procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday, October 25, 2007 and proceed to St. John's Mausoleum in Darien for a service and entombment at 10:00 AM.
