Shirley Henrietta Morris Mailhot, 83, was born into eternal life on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
Born in Stamford on September 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Catherine and William Cowley Morris, Sr.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Stamford. She was employed by SNET for many years and retired in 1991. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and playing cards with her family. She was a league duckpin bowler at the Shippan Duckpin Lanes and also enjoyed playing Bocce for many years. Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward J. Mailhot; daughters Cathleen Mailhot of Stamford, Susan Tyler and son-in-law, Jay Tyler of Trumbull; sons Edward E. Mailhot and daughter-in-law Andreina Lombardo Mailhot; Michael Mailhot and daughter-in-law Jill Pellini Mailhot and James (Jamie) Mailhot all of Stamford. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Lauren and Bruce Moore (great grandchildren Giavanna, William and Joseph), Eddie Mailhot, Jr., Dana and Katie Tyler, Cassie, Sean, Matt and JJ Mailhot, her brother Jimmy Morris of Stamford, a sister-in-law Marion Morris of Stamford and brother and sister in law Thomas and Eileen Mailhot of Napa, CA and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by her sisters Edna Morris, Ruth Evers and brothers Walter, William (Red) and Fred Morris.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 9:10 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Clements Church, 535 Fairfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Johns RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 3:00-7:00 PM.
