Stacia Dalonzo
April 1, 1922 — September 7, 2009
Stacia G. Dalonzo, 87, entered the home of our Lord on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 1, 1922 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Wasil and Sophie Heryszcuk.
Stacia was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cards, crossword puzzles, and was an avid fan of the Mets and UConn girls basketball. She was a retired employee of Capital Magnetics of Stamford.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Buhrman (Richard) of Danbury; and Diane Mitchell (Gary) of Danbury; and three sons, Robert Dalonzo (Susan) of Danbury; Don Dalonzo of Huntington, CT; and William Dalonzo (Kathleen) of O’Fallon, IL. A son-in-law, Alan Fraser of Stamford; a grandson, Douglas Fraser with whom she resided; eleven additional grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Fraser; and a brother, Michael Heryszcuk.
A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be celebrated at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, on Saturday, September 12 at 10:30 AM. There will be no calling hours and interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.
