Stanton E. Parrish, 92, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 7, 2015. He was born in Salem, NY on February 21, 1923 to the late Harley and Mary Stanton Parrish.
A 1939 graduate of Washington Academy in Salem NY, Stanton then attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated with the class of 1944. He served in the Army Aircorps from 1943 until 1946. Stanton received his Masters Degree from West Virginia University in 1962.
Stanton was employed as a Purchasing Manager for Union Carbide until his retirement in 1981.
He is survived by his loving children, Jane P. McNally of Ipswich, MA, Scott M. Parrish and his wife Debbie of Stamford, CT, John S. Parrish and his wife Maureen of Katy, TX as well as seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Ann Marie, Michelle, Kathryn, Leigh and Brian and three great grandchildren, Henry, Madelyn and Emmett. Also surviving is a brother, James Parrish and his wife Ellen of Proctorsville, VT, two sisters in law, Jane Parrish of ME and Barbara Parrish of Saratoga, NY, including several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Stanton was predeceased by his wife Ann Saunders Parrish, two sisters Helen and Mary, three brothers, Harley, Jack and Bob, a brother in law Jack Saunders and a daughter in law Tama Herman Parrish.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
