Stella Street

Stella E. Street, a lifelong Stamford resident, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. She was 88. Born on May 18, 1921 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Alphonso and Sarah Granelli Maffucci.
Stella graduated from Stamford High School in 1939. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court, St. Mary No. 82.
She was an employee of the H. Frankel and Sons Clothing Store on Atlantic Street in Stamford for 33 years before retiring in 1973.
Stella loved solving crossword puzzles and knitting, making afghans and shawls for patients in nursing homes. She was also an avid bowler since her younger years and a member of AARP#546.
Stella greatly enjoyed her thoughtful family for their closeness and loyalty. She was always there for them with a loving heart.
Stella is survived by her husband of 62 years, John F. (Jack) Street of Stamford; her brother-in-law, Joseph W. Street of Stamford; and several cousin, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased by her three sisters, Marie A. Houle (Leo), Florence Spiers (Albert, Jr.) and Elizabeth Maffucci; her three brothers, David Maffucci (Beatrice), Johnny Maffucci and Alfred Maffucci.
There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private. A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.
