Susan Alvey Muchinsky, of Stamford CT died in the morning of July 5, 2011, at the age of sixty-nine.

She was born Susan Marriott Alvey on May 26th, 1942 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Sue Hobbs and James Alfred Alvey of Elizabethtown, KY.

Susan received a BS degree in education from the University of Kentucky where she was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority. She then lived and studied art in Italy for a year and later received a Masters degree from Fairfield University. She subsequently taught elementary school at Fort Knox, KY and Stamford, CT for many years, until retirement in the late 1980s. She then continued to work for another decade at her antiques and crafts business, Weed House that she had started during her teaching career.

Her interests were many and varied: travel, crafts, quilting, antiques, art, as well as flamenco dancing.

She is survived by her former husband Daniel Muchinsky, son Alex Muchinsky and his wife Patricia, and granddaughter Natalya.

Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford, CT 06902 on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5:00- 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday July 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Richard C. Alton officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford, CT
