Susana Diaz de Perez, 100, a resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 17, 2014. She was born in Bogota, Colombia on May 24, 1913 to the late Clemente and Trinidad Diaz Sanchez.
Susana was a citizen of the United States. Before moving to the United States in 1970, she worked as an embroiderer in her country and continued to work at Swank Manufacturing Company in South Norwalk. Her strong religious principles added to her spirituality and devotion allowed Susana to touch and impact many lives.
Susana is survived by her six children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom she was lovingly devoted.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christain Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church,566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
