Sylvia Serafino
November 26, 1931 — January 30, 2013
Sylvia G.Crocco Serafino, 81, a resident of Stamford and a former resident of Boynton Beach, FL passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Smith House surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Stamford on November 26, 1931 to the late Michael and Angelina Bruno Crocco.
Sylvia was a member and officer of the Sacred Heart Rosary and Altar Society for fifty five years. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining her friends and spending time with her family.
Sylvia is survived by her loving sons, James M. Serafino, Sr. and his wife Wanda of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Ralph J. Serafino, Jr. of Stamford, her step mother Esterina Crocco , her sister Michelle Crocco and her brother Michael M. Crocco and his wife Rita all of Stamford. Also surviving are her grandchildren, James M. Jr., Gregory, Stephen and Victoria Serafino and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving husband Ralph J. Serafino Sr., her grandson R.J Serafino, III, her brothers Gerald and Salvatore Crocco and her sister Anna Agostino.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday February 2, 2013 from 8:30 AM- 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sylvia’s memory to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
