Teodoro Guarino

Teodoro Guarino, 88, a Stamford resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2010. Born on January 4, 1922 in Venosa, Italy, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Antonia Monaco Guarino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Emilia Martino Guarino.
Mr. Guarino came to this country in 1967 with his wife and children. He worked in construction, and later for Pitney Bowes for 17 years before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Guarino is survived by his loving children, Antonia Gabriele and her husband Giovanni, Rosa Giordano, Vincenzo Guarino and his wife Imperia, Pasquale Guarino; his grandchildren, Joann Latorraca and her husband Sal, Amy and her husband Dr. Jack DiTeodoro, Sandra Gabriele, Giovanna Holden and her husband Alex, Anthony Giordano and his wife Debbie, Gabriella Guarino, Daniela Stella and her husband Tim, Cristina Guarino, Jessica Guarino and Alvaro Carmona; his great-grandchildren, Steven, Adam, Jesse and Brian Latorraca, Vincent and Andrea DiTeodoro, Nino and Carmine Giordano; and former daughter-in-law Yolanda Guarino.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Antonio Guarino and his wife Lucia; one sister, Rosamaria Lavorano and her husband Rocco; son-in-law, Antonio Giordano; and his great-grandson, Gianni DiTeodoro.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 9:10AM on Saturday, March 13, 2010 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Clement RC Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
