Teresa Ferrajina

Teresa Ferrajina , 55, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Yale New Haven Medical Center. Born in Settefrati, Province of FR, Italy on December 25, 1955, she was the daugther of Lucia Macari Cucco and the late Antonio Cucco.
Teresa worked at Bongiorno’s Super market from 1972-1977, then to Grade A Market from 1978 -1982. She also worked at the Jewish Community Center for several years in the child care program then, with her dear friend and departed partner MaryAnn Colletto together they opened their own child care program within the Break Thru Fitness, the “Little Shoppe”. Teresa’s greatest love was her family and friends as she always put others first. Teresa was fun and loving person who would always be ready to help and provide love and support to everyone that she encountered .One of her favorite past times was to go upstate NY with her family and close friends. She will always be remembered as a “Mother “to everyone.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Antonio “Tony” Ferrajina of Stamford, her loving daughter Maria Ferrajina -Alves and her husband David of Stamford, her loving mother, Lucia Macari Cucco of Stamford, two sisters, Cathy Lukac of FL, Maria Grazia Cucco of Stamford and a brother, Sergio Cucco of Stamford. Also surviving are several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her loving father Antonio Cucco, she was predeceased by her brother Pasquale “Pat” Cucco.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 9:10 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St.Joseph’s Mausoleum, at St.Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
