Theodore Conforti
March 27, 1929 — August 4, 2018
Theodore “Boom” Conforti, 89, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Stamford on March 27, 1929 to the late Michael and Josephine Melo Conforti.
Teddy was the owner of Belltown Variety through the 1980’s and 1990’s. Teddy Boom was a bowler, golfed across many states with his crew and was a diehard fan of the Mets. He also liked to play the ponies. While being a hard worker, Teddy’s favorite job was babysitting for his grand and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Conetta Conforti of Stamford, his loving daughter, Diane Calorossi and her husband John of Stamford, a daughter in law, Leslie Conforti Staiger, his grandchildren, Alexis DiPreta and her husband Robert and their children Robert and Luca, Bret Conforti and his wife Dawn and their children Bella and Hunter, Caitlin Phillips and her husband Mike and their child Marlee, John Calorossi, Jr. and his wife Maureen and their children Jenna, John “J.P” and Mia, James Calorossi and his wife Tina and their children Sophia and James Jr. and Jodi Calorossi and her children Gabriel and Gavin, as well as his brother Tom Conforti and his wife Ella. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Theodore was predeceased by his son Michael Conforti who passed away May 3, 2018.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 8:30-10:00 AM, then proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue for a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Theodore’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
