Theodore A. Giannitti, 92, of Stamford, passes away peacefully on Wednesday July 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Theodore was born in San Mango Sul Calore, Italy on November 9, 1923 to the late Joseph and Margaret Melchionne Giannitti.
Theodore served his country on United States Army during World War II. He was a self-employed cabinet maker and owned a store called Reproduction of the Antique.
Theodore is survived by his son Theodore J. Giannitti of Stamford, his daughter Margaret Giannitti of Stamford, his brother Anthony Giannitti of New Canaan and his sister Gilda Buresse of Stamford, as well as his two granddaughters Alison Halstrom Miller and Kristin Halstrom Remson.
Besides his parents, Theodore in predeceased by his loving wife Rose Lupianicci Giannitti and his beloved daughter Valerie Halstrom.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at 9:50AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday July 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
