Theresa J. Barcello

Theresa J. Barcello, 76, passed away at Hartford Hospital on August 16, 2008 after years of declining health. Born in Stamford on October 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Concetta Coppola Moccia.
She lived her early years on Alden Street along with her siblings: Elinor Watson, Thomas Moccia and Angelina Barcello. Theresa attended Hart Elementary, Burdick Middle and Stamford High School.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rudolph Barcello; and leaves a legacy of 12 children: Theresa Metzgar, Peter Barcello, Barbara Avery, Stephen Barcello, Michael Barcello, Ann Marie Ladrigan, Frances Steers, Rudolph Barcello, II, Catherine Palmer, John Barcello, Christopher Barcello, Thomas Barcello; 21 grandchildren; and a sister, Angelina Barcello.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Elinor Watson; and a brother, Thomas Moccia.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, August 19 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 20 at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien.
