Theresa M. DeLuca, 98, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday March 12, 2015. Theresa was born on October 31, 1916 in Calitri, Italy to the late Vincenzo and Micheline Zabatta.
Theresa worked for Spectra-Tech as an assembler until the age of 77 before retiring. She was the consummate homemaker, a wonderful mother and enjoyed cooking for her family especially on holidays. As the outgoing person that she was, she enjoyed music and dancing.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Mary Fiordelisi and her husband Theodore of Stamford, Margo Pasquale of New Rochelle, NY, her son Anthony DeLuca and his wife Irene of West Palm Beach, FL, her grandchildren, Vincent Freccia, III of Stamford, Deborah Esposito of Stamford, Carmela Cleary of Monroe, Lisa Considine of Trumbull, Frank Pasquale, Jr. of Stamford, Kenneth Pasquale of Bethel, Terry Ferrara of Hamden, Lynette Bachleda of Knoxville, TN, Anthony DeLuca, Jr. of Arizona and Danielle DeLuca of Albuquerque, NM and her adoring nephew and niece John Carriagan and Denise Carrigan. Her twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive.
Besides her parents, Theresa is predeceased by her daughter Dolores Freccia and her sisters Lucy Carriagan and Rose Marciano.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Saturday March 14, 2015 at 9:15AM and proceed to The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home TODAY, Friday March 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
