Theresa A. DeMasi, 90, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Theresa was born in Stamford on August 14, 1924 to the late Charles and Maria Rinaldi Trombetta.
Theresa was a member of St. Mary RC Church. She was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1942. Theresa enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf and the University of Connecticut girls basketball. She was an order clerk for Stamford Superior Drug Company before she retired.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Rosemarie DeMasi, her spouse Joan Castle of Atlanta, GA and their daughter Crystal Norvell and her husband Jon, Jean Torok and her husband James of Norwalk; her two grandchildren, Pamela Heylin and her husband Michael, Christine Horelick and her husband Alex; her great grandchildren Callen Theresa and Aurora Heylin and Amber Horelick. Four sisters Mary Vita of Westport, Antoinette Fusaro of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dorothy Annunziata of Stamford and Patricia Gerardi of Stamford also survive.
Besides her parents, Theresa is predeceased by her loving husband Michael A. DeMasi, her brother Joseph Trombetta and her sister Rosalie Garfano.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 9:20 AM and proceed to St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Enichement will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 4, 2015from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Theresa’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
